Enabling Cookies
Enabling cookies involves an adjustment to your browser settings.
Follow these directions to enable cookies on the browsers listed below:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0
- Click Start and select Control Panel.
(Windows XP Classic View - click on Windows Start button and select Settings and Control Panel). - Double-click the Internet Options icon.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Under Settings, click Advanced button.
- Check the box Override automatic cookie handling under Cookies section in Advanced Privacy Settings window.
- Under First-party Cookies, select Accept.
- Under Third-party Cookies, select Accept.
- Check the box Always allow session cookies.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to exit.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Privacy tab, and in Setting section click the Advanced button.
- Click Custom Level or change the security level; the Security Settings window is checked
- Check the "Always allow session cookies"; Click the 'OK' button.
- Click the 'OK' button on the Internet Options window.
- Close all Explorer windows, than restart Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab and select the Internet Web content zone.
- Click Custom Level or change the security level; the Security Settings window is accessed.
- Scroll down to "Cookies" and "Allow Per Session Cookies (not stored)", and click 'Enable' for both options.
- Click OK; cookies are enabled.
- Click here; the 'Search' screen is accessed. Proceed with the sign in procedure.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0
- On the View menu, click Internet Options.
- On the Advanced tab, click the "Always accept cookies" option.
Netscape Navigator 6.x and higher
- Open Netscape Navigator.
- From the menu bar select Edit.
- Click Preferences.
- Expand the Privacy & Security category by clicking on the left arrow symbol.
- Under the Cookies field, click the radio button next to Enable all cookies.
- Click OK to close the Preferences window.
Netscape Navigator 4.x
- On the Edit menu, click Preferences. Choose the Advanced category.
- In the cookies dialog box, choose either "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server" or "Accept all cookies."
- Clear the "Warn me before accepting cookies" checkbox.
Netscape Navigator 3.0
- On the Options menu, click Network Preferences.
- In the "Show an alert before?" box on the Protocols tab, clear the "Accepting a cookie" box.
Macintosh/Power PC systems using Internet Explorer 3 or 4
- On the Edit menu, select Preferences.
- Under Receiving Files, click Cookies.
- Under When Receiving Cookies, select Never Ask.
- Click OK.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click on the Tools-menu in Mozilla
- Click on the Options... item in the menu - a new window opens
- Click on the Privacy selection in the left part of the window.
- Expand the Cookies section.
- Check the Enable cookies and Accept cookies normally checkboxes.
- Save changes by clicking Ok and go to one of the configuration pages again.
IBM-compatible systems using AOL
This is a two-part process. Part 2 involves different methods for the two different software versions.
Part 1:
- Click My AOL.
- Click Preferences.
- Click WWW.
Part 2:
Once you are viewing the WWW box, you will have to try each of the following methods. One of them should meet your needs:
Version A:
- Click the Security tab.
- Click the Custom Level or change the Security Level to Medium... button. Then, under Cookies, click Enable for both options.
Version B:
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- Under Security, scroll to the Cookies section and click Always Accept Cookie.
- Click OK.

Macintosh/Power PC systems using AOL
- From the My AOL menu on the AOL toolbar, select Preferences.
- Select the WWW icon.
- Click Advanced Settings.
- Under Receiving Files, select Cookies.
- Under "When Receiving Cookies," select "Never Ask".
Macintosh/Power PC systems using Netscape
- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- Click the Advanced category.
- Under Cookies check Accept All Cookies.
Macintosh/Power PC systems using Firefox
- Go to the "Firefox" drop down menu.
- Select "Preferences".
- Select the "Privacy" icon.
- Under "Cookies", mark the checkbox for "Allow sites to set Cookies".
- Select the "Privacy" icon.
- Under "Cookies", mark the checkbox for "Allow sites to set Cookies".
- If this doesn't solve the issue, try: Clearing the cache for Firefox.
Macintosh/Power PC systems using Safari
- Go to the "Safari" drop down menu.
- Select "Preferences".
- Select the "Security" icon at the top panel.
- Under "Accept Cookies" section select "Only from sites you navigate to".
